Watch the Transnational Modern Languages Series Launch
This event marked the publication of the first volumes in the ‘Transnational Modern Languages’ Series. Targeted at a student as well as a professional audience, the Series aims to demonstrate the value – practical and commercial, as well as academic and cultural – of modern language study when conceived as transnational cultural enquiry. The individual volumes in the Series address how work on the transnational and the transcultural broadens the discipline of Modern Languages. The launch involved a presentation of the Series by its editors; a discussion of the potential role of the volumes in the delivery of the Modern Languages curriculum around the world; and an open Q&A, where the audience had the chance to respond to the Series. Speakers include Rebecca Braun, Charles Burdett, Jenny Burns, Catherine Davies, Ana de Medeiros, Connor Doak, Derek Duncan, Claire Gorrara, Claire Launchbury, Rory O’Bryen, Kombola Ramadhani Mussa, Hilary Owen, Loredana Polezzi, Benedict Schofield, Rachel Scott, Naomi Wells and Claire Williams.
